Funeral services will be held on Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Catherine Kurtz, 70, of Osage, who died Monday, April 1, 1985, at the White House Nursing Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kurtz was born on May 5, 1914, at Osage, Iowa, to Mike and Clara Krones Michels. She was educated in the Osage schools. She then worked as a secretary at the Mitchell County Courthouse.

On June 4, 1941, she and Shirley Kurtz were united in marriage in Osage. They continued to farm in the Osage area.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage.

Surviving are a son, Joel, of Westmont, Illinois; three daughters: Mrs. Elon (Jane) Flack of Metter, Georgia, Mrs. Gary (Ann) Hoel of Mason City, and Mrs. Francis (Carol) Ratchford of Waterloo, Iowa; four grandchildren; a brother, Matt Michels of Albert Lea and a sister, Mrs. Roger (Marcella) Ginder of McIntire.

Mrs. Kurtz was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
