Miss Alma Nubson

OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Miss Alma Nubson, 87, who died early Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, are pending at Champion Funeral Home.

Survivors include nieces and nephews. Miss Nubson was a school teacher in the Mitchell County area for 50 years.

OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Miss Alma Nubson, 87, who died Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Meroa; burial in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Champion Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mason City Globe Gazette, Saturday, September 2, 1939 listed Alma Nubson among Nora Springs teachers, with Alma teaching 1st grade.

A similar article in the Waterloo Courier April 4, 1956 read: "Also returning her contract was Miss Alma Nubson, second grade, who has taught for six years in the Osage system."

April 4, 1963, at Osage, she was included among six retiring and retired teachers receiving NEA certificates.

NOTES:

She is the daughter of Christopher and Marit (Lindelien) Nubson. Marit's 1942 obituary listed her children as: a son, Nels C. Nubson of Carrington, North Dakota; five daughters: Mrs. Lauritz (Rachel) Norby and Mrs. Carl (Martha) Field of Osage, Mrs. Gunia Ask of Mitchell; Lena and Alma Nubson at home.

Two children had died; Alfred Norman who died in 1935, and a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Anne Marie) Fosholdt of Rudd, who died in 1939.
