Again has the messenger of Death visited our town and laid its cold relentless hand upon the form of one of our most respected and beloved lady citizens. Mrs. Johanna Gustava Golberg, wife of our fellow townsman, A.P. Golberg, died Thursday afternoon, January 5, 1888; ages 25 years, 11 months and 21 days. Deceased was a daughter of the late Andrew Erickson and was born at the present residence of her mother in Newburg township.

She was united in marriage with her surviving husband on October 5, 1882, since which time she has been a resident of St. Ansgar. About one year ago she fell a victim to that grim destoyer consumption. Week by week and day by day she gradually failed until Thursday last when by the intervening hand of Death she was released from her sufferings.

Mrs. Golberg was a lady highly respected by everyone; a loving wife, a true friend, a kind and obliging neighbor, and a person who will be greatly missed in this community.

The funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, of which Church deceased has been a devout member since early girlhood, Monday afternoon and were very largely attended. Rev. Olsen delivered an impressive discourse which was listened to with dignified attention by the vast concourse of relatives and sympathizing friends present.

After the ceremony the funeral cortege formed and moved to the cemetery where the mortal remains of a worthy woman now rests in peace. To the grief stricken husband and mother of the deceased who are called upon to mourn the death of a wife and daughter, we extend our heartfelt sympathies.
