OSAGE, IOWA - Services for Fred Hunchis, 80, who died of an apparent heart attack at his home Sunday morning, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Julie; two daughters, Marianne Reynolds and Katy Skobba, both of Burnsville, Minnesota; two sons, John of Plymouth and William of Edina, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Hunchis of Plymouth.

He was a cattle buyer and feeder and was founder of Hunchis Cattle Co. of Plymouth.

Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Monday at Champion Funeral Home.

Fred Hunchis, a familiar name in the cattle business in North Iowa, died at his home on Sunday, April 10, 1983, at the age of 80. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Osage. Rev. J. Pittman officiated, with burial in the osage cemetery. Champion Funeal Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hunchis was born on January 3, 1903, the son of John and Nora Michalek Hunchis, on the family farm in Plymouth, Iowa. He lived all his life in this area. He was educated in the Worth county country schools and attended Plymouth High school. Mr. Hunchis was well-known as a cattle buyer and feeder. He was the founder of Hunchis Cattle CO., Inc., Plymouth. In later years Fred's son, John joined him in a cattle uying and feeding operation known as the Hunchis Cattle Co. Fred had been active in the business until his death.

Fred Hunchis and Kathleen Dorsey were married in 1930. Kathleen preceded him in death in 1947. To his union were born four children: Marianne Hunchis Reynolds of Burnsville, Minnesota, John Hunchis of Plymouth, William Hunchis of Edina, Minnesota, and Kathleen (Katy) Hunchis Skobba of Burnsville, Minnesota.

In 1951 he was united in marriage to Julie Spaanum.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; two sons, John and Bill, and by two daughters, Kathy and Marianne; one sister, Dorothy Hunchis of Plymouth, and by 16 grandchildren.
