Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Richards, 83, who died October 25, 1958 following a heart attack that morning, were held October 28 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Don R. Hamilton officiating.
Marthe Hansen Richards, daughter of Halvor and Anne Hansen, was born in Otranto township May 2, 1875. She was baptized at the First Lutheran church here July 18, 1875 and confirmed at the Mona Lutheran church by the Rev. J.M. Eggen May 26, 1889.
She was married to the late Robert Richards January 1, 1917. They lived on a farm in the Woodbury district of Minnesota until they moved to Otranto in 1938. Mr. Richards died in 1946, and for the past nine years Mrs. Richards had made her home with her brother, H.B. Hansen of St Ansgar.
Mrs. Richards suffered a heart attack Saturday morning, October 25 and died that same evening at the age of 83 years, five months and 23 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Richards is survived by her brother, Henry Hansen of St. Ansgar; three sisters, Miss Ella Hansen of St. Ansgar; Mrs. Hanna Thompson of Lyle and Mrs. Bertha Sherman of Wibaux, Montana; also one niece, two nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews and a host of friends.
Interment was in the Woodbury cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal services.
