MASON CITY, IOWA - Funeral services for Cynthia S. Pospichal of Mason City, formerly of Riceville, Iowa was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa.
Visitation was held Monday, February 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and for an hour prior to services on Tuesday, February 13 at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville. There was a 5 p.m. Rosary and a 6 p.m. Scripture on Monday evening.
Conway Funeral Home in Riceville, Iowa, handled the arrangements.
Cynthia, 57, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Cerro Gordo county, Iowa, of natural causes.
Cynthia Sue Pospichal was born on September 17, 1949, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Mary Lou (Hentges) Pospichal. She was a 1967 graduate of Riceville High School in Riceville, Iowa. Following high school graduation, Cindy worked in Cedar Rapids for Collins, and McKesson Pharmacy. She later moved to Charles City and worked for White Farm Equipment. In 1983, Cindy moved to Mason City and attended NIACC and received a degree in Law Enforcement. At present, she was an investigator for the State of Iowa in the Dept of Inspection and Appeals, at the Mason City Office.
Cindy had a loving personality who always was joking and having fun with family and friends, she was known as the “Clean up gal”. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Mason City, and she enjoyed playing in a pool league. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter: Jillian (Chris) Gorgei of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one granddaughter: Alexis; her mother: Mary Lou Pospichal of Riceville; her brothers and sisters: Linda (Kelly) Wilkinson of Cedar Rapids, Leo (Susan) Pospichal of Delano, Minnesota, Laurie Jensen (fiance Don Blaess) of Ridgeway, Mary (Linus) Luzum of Calmar, Deb (Mike) Mayer of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Joe Pospichal of Riceville.
She was preceded in death by her father Gerald on January 29, 2007, and one brother: Thomas.
