CARPENTER, IOWA - Glenn Robert Kronemann, 84, of Carpenter, died Friday, January 27, 2012, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, of a sudden illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, with Father Jack McClure, CPPS officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Osage, with military honors at the grave by Walter T. Enneberg American Legion Post 358 of St. Ansgar. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a scripture wake service at 7 p.m.
Glenn was born March 20, 1927, in Rock Township, Mitchell County, the youngest of nine children to Emil and Mary (Neuman) Kronemann. He attended country school in Rock Township. Glenn served in the Army Air Force during World War II, in the Pacific. He was united in marriage to Dolores Wagner at Sacred Heart Church in Osage on Aug. 21, 1950. They farmed near St. Ansgar until 1970 when they moved to Britt. They moved to Carpenter in 1990. Glenn was the drummer for the Grafton Boys Band for 40 years.
He was a member of the St. Ansgar American Legion Post 358. Glenn enjoyed playing his drums, hunting, fishing, gardening and listening to music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Dolores Kronemann of Carpenter; his eight children, Douglas (Linda) Kronemann of Osage, Diane (Lyle) Passmore of Minnesota Lake, Minn., Nancy (Marvin) Trenary of Kanawha, Lynn (Daniel) Doughan of Britt, David Kronemann of Crystal Lake, Susan Marshall of Gig Harbor, Washington, Wayne (Michelle) Kronemann of Britt, Brian Kronemann of Kanawha; a brother, Lloyd Kroneman of Grafton; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers and a great-grandson.
