KILLED IN ACTION
IN GERMANY APR. 22S. Sgt. Kenneth Martin, about 30, was killed in action in Germany April 22, according to a message received morning Thursday, by his mother, Mrs. Mary Martin. Sgt. Martin was with the fifth armored division of the ninth Army and had been in action most of the time since he arrived overseas about 14 months ago. He was with the heavy artillery.
“Kenny,” as he was known at home, was born at Riceville, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Hiram Martin. The family moved to Osage during his early years he was graduated from the Osage High School.
He entered the service three years ago this month.
Surviving are his mother; one brother, Lee of Osage; and one sister, Mrs. H. D. Hamm (Lucille) of Charles City.
