HATTIE HACKBART

Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, for Hattie Christiansen, who died Saturday, March 27 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Services were held at our Savior's Lutheran Church. The Reverend Joseph Nesheim and the Reverend Harold Larsen were in charge of the service. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery and Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hattie was born in 1908, in Germany to Otto and Paula Hoppe. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of two years.

She was united in marriage to Dave Christiansen in 1926. They lived in East Chicago, Indiana until 1950 when they moved to Manly with their son Don. In 1954 they moved to a farm south of Osage. Her husband Dave died in 1960.

Hattie married Irvin Hackbart in 1967 and they moved to Osage from Plymouth in 1976.

She is survived by her husband Irvin of Osage, one son Don Christiansen of Osage; two grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Garaffa of Hiland, Indiana; Mrs. Myron (Maria) Klien of Osage and Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Anderson of Englewood, Colorado; one brother Al Hoppe of Fairfax, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.

Hattie was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents and two brothers.
