MCINTIRE WOMAN SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS
McIntire – Mrs. Alva Moffitt, 52, died Monday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital following an illness of three weeks.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the McIntire Methodist Church with burial in Rockton, Illinois.
Surviving are her husband, and daughter; Mrs. Richard Elliott, McIntire ; a grandson and a sister. The family moved here last March from South Beloit, Illinois.

Mrs. Alva Moffitt, 52, of Rte 2, Riceville, Iowa, a resident of South Beloit and this area nearly all her life until a year ago, died Monday in Mitchell county Memorial hospital, Osage, Iowa.
Vida Helen Long was born March 16, 1908, in Durand, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Long. She was married to Alva Moffitt on Dec. 20, 1924. She was a member of the Central Christian church in Beloit.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Elliott of McIntyre, Iowa; a grandson; a sister, Mrs. Maude Kenyon of St. Petersburg, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, a sister and three brothers predeceased her.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Methodist church at McIntyre. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rockton cemetery with the Rev. Hugh York officiating.

She was buried in the Rockton Township Cemetery, Rockton, Winnebago, Illinois.
Her husband was Alva Harold Moffit, the son of Merton Moffitt and Barbara (Wiljeck) Moffitt. He was born September 27, 1905 and died February 4, 1987, in Lyon County, Minnesota (from Minnesota death records).
