ROBERT "BOB" GOODALE
OSAGE - Robert "Bob" Goodale, 45, of 3112 Lancer Ave., Osage, died Sunday (Jan. 2, 2000) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, where family will greet friends from 2 to 5 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Robert "Bob" Goodale was born Dec. 29, 1954, in Osage, the son of Kenneth and Ruby (Boggess) Goodale. He was educated in Osage schools and graduated from Osage High School in 1973. He was named to the 1972 North Iowa All-Conference Football Team, and qualified for the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament in 1973.
He was united in marriage to Cynthia Trout on July 22, 1977, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage. He was a lifelong Osage resident. He owned and operated the Cedar Valley Supper Club in Osage from 1991 to October 1999. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf, was an avid sports fan, and particularly liked wrestling.
Memorials may be made to the Bob Goodale Memorial Fund.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia, of Osage; two daughters, Valerie Williams and husband, Mathew, and their daughter, Emma, all of Osage, Michelle Goodale and daughter Jacey, of Osage; his parents, Kenneth and Ruby Goodale, of Osage; maternal grandmother, Marie (Boggess) Zimmerman, Charles City; one sister, Roxanne Tusler and husband, Donnie, and daughter, Courtney, of Osage; six brothers, Rich Goodale and wife, Nancy, of Tipton, Russ Goodale and children, Jessica, Jenna, and Jobe, all of Osage, Ralph Goodale and children, Mathias and MacKenzie of West Branch, Ron Goodale and wife, Debbie, and children, Trent, Theran, Tallia and Thatcher, all of Osage, Regi Goodale and wife, Angie, and children, Lauren, Mallorie, and Olivia all of Urbandale, and Rod Goodale of Brooklyn Park, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Burl and Lillian Goodale, and his maternal grandfather, Ray Boggess.
