OSAGE BOY, ILL FEW HOURS, DIES
FUNERAL IS HELD FOR CHILD, SUDDEN VICTIM OF EAR INFECTIONOsage – Funeral services were held at 9 o’clock Monday morning at Sacred Heart Church for Donald Dean Gilchrist, 3, who died suddenly Saturday night. He became ill overnight from an ear infection and the infection quickly penetrated his system. Father Baxter conducted the rites.
Born May 23, 1933, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gilchrist.
Besides his parents, he leaves five sisters, Mrs. Catherine Henning of Davenport, Dorothy; Mary Anne; Barbara; and Ruth, at home.

ROSS GILCHRISTS LOST
LITTLE SON SATURDAY;
ILL ONLY FEW HOURSDonald Dean, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gilchrist, passed away at their home Saturday morning (Nov. 14, 1936) at 11 o'clock, after an illness of a few hours. The little fellow had been in good health up until 3 o'clock Saturday morning.
An infection in an ear started Friday, and developed so fast that Saturday he was beyond aid.
Donald was born in Osage on May 23, 1933, and spent the 3 years, 5 months of his life here. He was the youngest child of the family -- beloved and idolized by the elder sisters and brothers. His passing has brought deep sorrow to all.
Surviving are his parents; his sister, Mrs. Katherine Henning, and Dorothy, of Davenport; Mary Ann, Barbara, and Richard, at home.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church, conducted by the Rev. Baxter, and burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery.**

**NOTE: Donald was actually buried in the Osage City Cemetery, not Sacred Heart. His parents, however, are buried at Sacred Heart.
