Nellie (Spilde) Fonda – August 6, 1887 – December 10, 1962
MRS. E. S. FONDA SERVICES SET AT NORTHWOOD
Northwood – Mrs. Edward S. (Nell) Fonda, 75, died at the Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea, Minnesota Monday following a long illness.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church here. The Rev. H. A. Wilke, Northwood, and the Rev. Gordon Narveson, Waseca, Minnesota will officiate.
Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with Bonnerup Funeral Home, Albert Lea, in charge.
The daughter of Mikkel and Christine Spilde, she was born August 6, 1887 in Worth County. She was married at Northwood in 1914.
She and her husband lived in Osage and Northwood and from 1946 to 1961 operated the Leuthold Fonda Department store in Waterville, Minnesota. They moved back to Northwood last year.
Surviving are her husband, a son, Edward S. Jr, New Orleans; two grandchildren; two brothers; Elmer and Leonard Spilde, Northwood; two sisters; Mrs. Mabel Thompson, St. Ansgar; Mrs. Clara Butler, Spokane, Washington.
