Funeral services for Grace Harrison, 84, of Osage, Iowa, were held on Tuesday, April 8, 1986, at the United Methodist Church in Osage. Rev. James Pittman officiated and burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Mrs. Harrison died on Friday, April 4, 1986 at the Mitchell County Mem. Hospital.

Grace Marie Harrison was born on March 23, 1902 at Morris, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest A. and Clara (Carver) Counsell. She moved to the New Haven area with her parents and attended country schools and Osage High School. She then attended art school in Des Moines.

On March 23, 1922, Grace and E.L. Harrison were united in marriage at the Methodist Church parsonage in Osage. The couple farmed in the New Haven and Riceville areas until 1970 when they retired and moved to Osage.

She was a member of United Methodist Women, Maomi Circle, a charter member of the Women's Society for Christian Service, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and was organist at the United Methodist Church and Champion Funeral Home. She was also in the cake decorating business.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest L. Harrison; two brothers, John and Ernest J. Counsell; two sons, Sherman K. and Delbert G.; and one grandson, Raymond Dean Harrison.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Walter of Des Moines; a son, Merlyn (Bill) Harrison of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The original transcription obituary erroneously had Raymond Harrison's middle name as James.
According to James's sister, Dawn Harrison Witt,
the middle name should be "Dean."
