Mrs. August Feldt passed away at her home in Rock last Thursday. Mrs. Feldt has been a patient sufferer with a cancer for over two months. The services were conducted at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Reineke, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Rock Creek cemetery.

Ernestine Stelter was born March 16, 1852 in Germany, the daughter of Michael Stelter and Wilhelmine (Brunk) Stelter.

She married August Feldt who was born August 1844 in Germany. He died in 1920.

In the 1900 US Census: Rock, Mitchell; Ernestine’s mother, Minna, was still alive and living with Ernestine and her husband. Her parents and a brother Wilhelm, are buried in the Calvary Cemetery. In this census, they still had eight children living with them: William, Martha, Willimena, Mary, Fredrick, Anna, August, and Anetta, ranging in age from 25 down to 2 years old.
