Eolis Esther (Turner) Tienken – January 17, 1922 – September 8, 1981

Eolis Esther Turner/Tienken, daughter of Curtis and Esther Turner was born on Jan. 17, 1922 Oelwein, Iowa. she attended the McIntire Public School graduating in 1939.

On January 24, 1959 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Tienken Jr. To this union were born two children, Karen and Allen.

Eolis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Riceville and was active in the work of the Baptist Missionary Society.

Survivors include her husband and daughter, two brothers, E. Avery Turner of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Irvin Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister Verna Doty of Tulsa Oklahoma, one aunt Zella McInroy of Riceville; three nieces, two nephews numerous cousins and many friends and neighbors.

Eolis died on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1981 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 10, 1981 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Riceville with Rev. Larry Long officiating. Mrs. Fred Hill was the pianist with Rev. Long the soloist, Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery at Riceville.

Casket bearers were Harold Anderson, Richard Brunner, Gary Christensen, Steve Christensen, Mason Fuller and Elmer Krueder. Arrangements were with the Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy, Minn
