Peter Alexander Diltz was born near Troy Mills in Buchanan County, Iowa, son of George William Diltz and Rebecca Angeline Kint. They are buried in this cemetery.

~0bit~Peter Alexander Diltz, son of George and Angeline Kint Diltz was born September 21, 1885 near Troy Mills and passed away at University Hospital at Iowa City on August 6, 1955 at the age of 69 years.

He was married to Zilpha Isaacs at Troy Mills on May 3, 1905, where they lived on a farm.

In 1913 they moved to Riceville and farmed until 1926, when they came to Iowa City, where Mr. Diltz worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Troy Mills Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Diltz observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary on May 3, of this year.

Survivors include his widow; four sons, Everett Kenneth Diltz of Iowa City, Ernest William Diltlz of Walker, Reed Allen Diltz and Wayne Lewis Diltz both of Eureka, California; two daughters, Mrs. Eva May O'Rourk of Dubuque, Mrs. Norma Morlan of Houston, Texas; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Two children preceded him in death, a daughter, Edith Irene Diltz, who died at the age of ll; and a son Melvin Peter Diltz, who was killed in Germany in World War ll. Two brothers, William McDaniel Diltz of Tracy California, and John Collins Diltz of Estherville,Iowa, also survive.

Services were held in Iowa City on Monday evening with the Rev. Lloyd Bartholemew officiating. On Tuesday afternoon services were conducted at the Christian Church at Troy Mills by Rev. Lester Pearson and Interment was in the Troy Mills cemetery

Their daughter Edith Irene Diltz , was born June 16, 1912; died October 3, 1923 and is buried in the Wayne Cemetery, Mitchell, Iowa
