Thelma Bernice (Johnson) Nyquist – September 2, 1901 – June 30, 1999

Thelma B. Nyquist, 97, of 300 Buffalo Hills Lane, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1901, in McIntire, Iowa, to Theodore and Cora (Harrison) Johnson. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star, and a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Henry "Bud" Nyquist, Wahpeton, N.D.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Henry O. Nyquist, died earlier.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church of Brainerd with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home of Brainerd from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. and an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

Thelma Bernice Johnson was born September 2, 1901 in McIntire, Mitchell, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore Johnson and Cora Bell Harrison Johnson. (Iowa birth records)

Her mother Cora Bell Harrison was born May 1882 in Mitchell Co., Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Neal Harrison and Theodora (McClintock) Harrison.

Cora Harrison married Theodore Johnson, the son of William T Johnson and Maria Errington Johnson.

Her mother died in 1920 and is buried in the Wayne Cemetery, in the Johnson plot. The tombstone only says Cora 1882-1920 Mother
