Funeral services were held Friday, February 28, 1986, at Hage Funeral Home in Charles City for Harley O. Birkholz, 78, of rural Orchard, Iowa. Deacon Joe Hying of Waterford, Wisconsin officiated and burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.
Mr. Birkholz died on Tuesday, February 25, at a Charles City nursing home.
Mr. Birkholz was born in Floyd County near Oakwood to Herman and Anna (Voekler) Birkholz. He was educated in Oakwood schools and married Norma Brown on June 29, 1936 in Charles City, Iowa. The couple farmed at rural Orchard.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Donna) Hying of Waterford, Wisconsin; one son, Duane of rural Osage; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ed of Sheffield, Iowa.
