Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 11, 1986 at the United Methodist Church in Decorah for Kevin Allen Heckstein, 27, of Decorah, Iowa, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, who was killed in an accident at his home on Saturday, February 8, 1986.
Mr. Heckstein had been working on a car in a garage when it apparently fell on him. He was found by his wife about 11 a.m., pinned under the vehicle. He was dead at the scene.
Mr. Heckstein was born on April 8, 1958 in Osage, the son of Vernon and Sandra (Krones) Heckstein. He graduated from Osage High School in 1977 and from Area II Vocational School at Calmar.
In August 1980, he and Sherri Stille of Decorah were married. The couple made their home in the Decorah area where he was employed.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri of Decorah; one daughter, Jennifer and one sone, Kory, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Heckstein; one brother, Keith; one sister, Kristine; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Krones; and is paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alice Heckstein, all of Osage.
