Nellie Eliza (Wallace) DuShane

December 15, 1888 -- March 27, 1964

MRS. GEORGE DuSHANE

Charles City – Mrs. George H. DuShane, 75, died Friday at the Mental Health Institute at Independence. She had been a patient there since November.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters; Mrs. A. C. Wegner Jr., Charles City; Mrs. Esther F. Burtch, Portland, Oregon; and a son, Wallace C. DuShane, Waterloo; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Wallace, Riceville; Albert, Janesville; a sister; Mrs. Mabel Dickinson, Waterloo.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the church of the Open Bible in Waterloo. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens there. Hauser Funeral Home at Charles City is in charge.

Nellie Eliza Wallace was born December 15, 1888 in either Nebraska or Kansas (census varies) , the daughter of Clark Wallace and Lillian (Aldrich) Wallace.

In 1900 the family was living in Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her parents are buried in Osage. Nellie married George Henry DuShane, the son of Edwin and Fannie (Jeffries) DuShane.
