Funeral services for Rosamond Clara Gordon, 70, of Carpenter, were held on Friday, May 1, 1987 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Rev. E. C. Franke officiated and burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
She was born on March 14, 1917 in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to Paul and Edith (Vernon) Dockum. She attended school in Meltonville and graduated from high school in Otranto in 1936.
On February 28, 1941, she was married to Nels O. Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three children.
Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Merton (Edith) Miller of Twin Lakes, Minnesota, Mrs. Jack (Diane) Van Horn of Northwood, Mrs. Verne (Ellen) Hanson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mrs. Dennis (Joyce) Kuntz of Joice, and Mrs. Shane (Mary Jo) Metz of Cedar Falls; three sons: Duane of Fresno, Calif., Dennis of Mason City, and Jeffrey of St. Ansgar; two brothers, Harry Dockum of Carpenter and Gerald Dockum of Des Moines; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
