RING, Emil G. 1891-1968
Emil George Ring was born on November 12, 1891 in rural Riceville, Iowa, and passed away at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage on September 14, 1968 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 2 days. He was the son of Minnie (Kliem) and August Ring.
He was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Riceville, of which he remained a life-long member.
He resided in the Riceville commnity his entire life except for service to his country in World War I from September 18, 1917 to May 20, 1919.
On May 25, 1927 he married Minnie Ring. On July 2, 1934, a daughter, Mayzee, was born to this union and on July 30, 1924, Minnie passed away.
On September 1, 1936 he united in marriage to Allene (Weers) Klobassa.
For the past 42 years he has been employed at the A and H. Motors in Riceville.
He is survived by his wife, Allene; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Mayzee) Wright of Osage; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Glenn (Lois) Dinger and Mrs. Glen (Marlene) Dillon, both of Riceville, and by nine grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Walter (Lizzie) Miller, Mrs. Fred (Anna) Utesch, Mrs. Marvin (Lena) Kruger, Harry, and Clarence, all of Riceville, and Charles of Tacoma, Washington, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Minnie; and by three brothers.
Funeral services were held on September 17, 1968, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with Rev. N. Betke officiating. Military services and burial was at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery south of Riceville.
