Funeral services were held at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville Friday afternoon for John J. Mueller who died early Tuesday evening at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

He had been a resident at the home since Mar. 11. Rev. Joseph F. Griffin officiated at the funeral mass and burial service in the Visitation Cemetery. Hatten Funeral Home was in charge of interment.

John J. Mueller was born on August 29, 1893 in Stacyville township, the son of William and Anna Maria Huemann Mueller. He was married Jan. 26, 1916 to Elizabeth Thome at the Sacred Heart Church in Meyer. They farmed southeast of Stacyville in 1965.

Surviving are his wife, six daughters and five sons - Mrs. Robert Rockers (Cyrilla), Austin; Mrs. Urban Brumm (Evelyn); Emil, Osage; Elmer, Austin; Mrs. Leo Halbach (Maxine), Austin; Mrs. Herbert Hemann (Irene), Stacyville; Marvin; Delphin, Waterloo; Mrs. Charles Adams, Stacyville; Lavern, Stacyville and Mrs. Jerome Mullenbach (Mary Ann), Adams. Also four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Klapperich in a St. Ansgar Nursing Home; Mrs. Mary Blake, Stacyville; Mrs. Christina Klapperich, Adams and Mrs. Helen Michels, Stacyville. Also surviving are 70 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
