Edward J. Kruger
October 30, 1894 -- August 31, 1958
Edward Joseph Kruger, son of Edward and Amelia Kruger, was born on the Kruger farm southeast of Riceville on October 30, 1894. Pneumonia and complications ended his earthly career at 63 years, 10 months, and 1 day, on Sunday evening, August 31, 1958.
In infancy he was baptized and later confirmed in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, now located in Riceville. On October 10, 1917, he was united in holy wedlock with Mayme Weers of Elma, Iowa. They lived on the Kruger homestead until after his wife's dath on August 10, 1947.
In 1948, he went to Watertown, Wisconsin and the following year, on March 19, married Mrs. Agnes Kohls. He was employed at the Lutheran Bethesda Home for a few yeras and since that time had been employed at the Syncromatic Corp.
He is survived by his wife, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lyle Teschner; and one granddaughter, Christine Trechner. Also surviving are two brothers, Emil of Conelo, California, and Ray of Huntington Park, California; three sisters, Mrs. Will Rieken of Elma, Mrs. Arthur Pfaffenback of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Carl Sauer of Riceville.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 3, 1958, at the Noffz Funeal Home in Watertown, Wisconsin, with the Rev. Harold Wikke of St. Mark's Luthean Church officiating. Interment took place the following day in the Lutheran cemetery at Riceville, with the Rev. Steinbeck of Elma officiating.
