KAPKA, Louise

Louise Henrietta, daughter of E.W. and Mary Reckner (Kruger) was born near Elma, Iowa, on February 15, 1893 and died in the Cedar Valley Hospital at Charles City, Iowa, at the age of 48 years, 11 months and 4 days. She had been in ill health since April of last year, during which time she had undergone several operations.
She attended the schools, rural and high, of her community. After he graduation from Cedar Falls Normal she taught in the rural schools of Howard county for a number of years.December 9, 1915, she was united in wedlock with Chas. Kapka of Riceville. This union was blessed with two sons, Kenneth and Lyle. Since 1926 she has lived with her family on a farm five miles south of Riceville.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She was laid to rest in the Lutheran Cemetery south of Riceville, Thursday, January 22, 1942, her pastor Rev. W. Leckband, being in charge of the services.
Mrs. Kapka had made most of the arrangements for her funeral. At her request, she was buried in her wedding dress. The pallbearers, also of her selection, were: Robert, Marvin and William Kruger; Augue, Arthur and Herman Reckner.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Charles; two sons, Kenneth and Lyle; one granddaughter, lola; her aged mother; three sisters: Alvina (Mrs. Henry Bohneman), Lillian (Mrs. Albert Hobert), ROckford; and Mary (Mrsl Lee Carpenter), Minneapolis, Minnesota; three brothers: Harry, Alfred, and Richard, and a host of friends.
