Club ActivitiesOSAGE, IOWA - Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Wilden were Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Gardner, conducted by Dr. S. E. Ellis of the Methodist Church. Burial was in the local cemetery.
Mrs. Wilden, whose maiden name was Candace Elnora Ludlow, was born June 1, 1848, at Evansville, Wisconsin, and died at her daughter's home here late Wednesday afternoon.
She came here with her parents at the age of five, completed the course in the local schools, prepared for teaching in the Cedar Valley Seminary and taught school for several years.
Her first marriage was to John Huntington of Lincoln Township. Her second husband was Perry J. Wilden, Los Angeles, California.
Besides the daughter, she is survived by a son, Charles, Clear Lake, Highlands, California.
An adopted daughter, Emma Belle Swanson, died in 1918.
Mrs. Wilden was a member of the Methodist church for 50 years, and while living in Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis, Kansas City, Missouri, and LaCrosse, Wisconsin, took an active part in city missions. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance union, Women's Relief Corps and the First Osage Naturalist club, which last named organization she served at president after she had reached the age of 81 years.
