Mrs. F. W. (Elizabeth) Kapka
(a.k.a Lizette Louise Kapka)
October 5, 1857 -- August 13, 1929
Elizabeth, the oldest daughter of Diedrich and Wilhelmina Neals, was born at Racine, Wisconsin, October 5, 1857 and passed away at her home in Riceville at 5:30 a.m., August 13 at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 7 days. The cause of death being apoplexy. In infancy she was baptized and later-on confirmed in the Lutheran Church.
On June 15, 1875 she was united in marriage to Frederick W. Kapka, who preceded her in death about 18 months ago. To them were born twelve children, eight sons and four daughters: Charles, Robert, Julius, Martin, Anna and Mrs. Fred Lebow of Riceville; William of Lime Springs, Herman of Hayward, Oklahoma; and George and Mrs. George Homan of Stockton, California. One son, Walter, and one daughter, Emma, preceded their parents in death.
Besides her children she leaves to mourn her departure, her sister, Mrs. Wm. Volbrecht, 19 living grandchildren, and a host of friends.
On August 17 her mortal remains were bedded in God's Acre at the Lutheran Church** south of Riceville, her pastor, Rev. W. Leckband officiating.
Again the Lord has called one of His children home. In tribute to her memory many nice things could be said, that she was an active member of her church while health and strength permitted, that she had a kind and sympathetic nature, but the highest tribute which we can bring her is that she died a Christian death, since she fell asleep trusting solely in her Savior for salvation.

**The cemetery is probably St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa.
