William G. Heller 1910-1992

Funeral services for William Gustav Heller, 81, were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 1992, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, Iowa, with Rev. R. Pfeil officiating. Mr. Heller passed away on Monday, January 27, 1992 at the Riceville community Rest Home.
William Heller was born on the family farm south of Riceville on November 29, 1910, the son of Matilda and Theodore Heller. He attended rural schools.
In his youth, he played Clarinet and sang in a quartet, "The Wapsi Four." He was an avid fox hunter and enjoyed fishing. He spent his entire life farming in the Riceville area until entering the nursing home in 1985.
Mr. Heller, who never married, is survived by one sister, Dorothy Woodruff, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his stepmother, Alida B. Heller, Riceville; one nephew, Him Brown, Riceville, and three nieces: Mary Selvig, Osage; Marcene Grief, Cedar Rapids, and Rita Rusch, Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Theresa Heller and Josephine Brown.
Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery with the Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
