GEORGE D LOCKIE
Riceville – George Douglas Lockie, 81, retired farmer, died Thursday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Methodist Church in Riceville. The Rev. Robert Leverenz will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Riceville. The Chisholm Funeral Home, Riceville, is in charge.
Born April 9, 1882, at Riceville, he was the son of James and Elizabeth Lockie. He was married to Ada Sumpter of Riceville, October 26, 1904.
Surviving are a son, Charles, Osage; a daughter; Mrs. Ernest (Urania) Thompson, Northwood; and two sisters; Nellie Perry and Olive Welles, both of Riceville; two brothers; Reed Lockie, Riceville; and Harold Lockie, Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada, a son and a daughter.
