Albert Carstens Dies Suddenly at Home 18th

Albert Louis Carstens was born January 12, 1877 to Charles and Elsby Carstens in Scott County, Davenport, Iowa, and passed away suddenly at his home in Riceville on June 18, 1954 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 6 days.

He came to the Riceville vicinity with his parents 45 years ago and lived on the home farm southwest of town, until the last 5 years when he retired to his home in town. When a young boy he was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith.

On October 9, 1938, he was united in marriage to Ruth Fuller McInroy.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth, his brother, Harry, niece Mrs. Fred Miller, Osage, 3 step-children, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his sister Laura.

Last rites were from the Loper Funeral Home Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. William Bohi. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harry Wallace, Wilbur Linda, Charles Linkenmeyer, Lee Martin, Gene Henderson and Jim Eide.
