Mrs.Rose Olson, 76
Died here Saturday

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Our Savior's Lutheran church for Mrs. Rose Olson, 76, who died Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital. Mrs. Olson had been ill about one week.

The Rev. Obert Hoven and the Rev. Ed Schlachtenhaufen, associate pastors of Our Savior's were in charge. Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Rose Wetzel was born at Floyd, January 21, 1889, the daughter of George F. and Frances Lisel Wetzel. She grew to womanhood in Charles City and attended convent schools there.

Her marriage to Oscar H. Olson took place December 16, 1908. They farmed near Floyd until 1971, and at that time moved to Osage.

Mrs Olson was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church, joining at the time the family moved to Osage. She held a life membership in Our Savior's Lutheran Church Women. She also served as housekeeper at the church. Mrs. Olson was employed for many years at the Cedar Valley produce in Osage. She was active also in the local Senior Citizens, in Osage First Naturalist and Flora May Tuttle Naturalist clubs.

Surviving are one son, Robert O. Olson of Osage, nine grandchildren; two brothers, John Wetzel of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Charles Wetzel of Potlatch, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, three children, Mrs. Francis Bellis, Melbourne and Lloyd; one granddaughter, Peggy Ann Olson; her parents, four sisters and four brothers.
