Floyd A Auringer was born on November 25, 1894, at Jamestown, Howard, Iowa, to Daniel Auringer and Maria Jane Torney, the eighth of eleven children. He can be found in the 1900 through 1920 censuses at Jamestown, Howard, Iowa, living on a farm with his parents and siblings.
He married Doris M. Kimball (Hall) on May 21, 1918 at Minnesota. The couple lived at Riceville, Iowa, and are found in the 1915 through 1930 censuses as living there.
They had four children: three daughters and a son. Daughter Darlene Dawn Auringer Myers was born December 28, 1924 at Riceville, died May 18, 2011 Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo, Iowa. Son John (Jack) D. Auringer was born October 22, 1929 Riceville and died October 30, 2010 at Rochester, Minnesota. (Their obits can be found at this website.)
Floyd Auringer died on January 1, 1968 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa. He is buried at Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa. He worked for the US Postal Service.
