James Bernard Hendricks was born April 26, 1886 in Riceville, Iowa, the son of Ole Hendricks and Cathrine Regan. He died June 1971 in Riceville, Howard, Iowa.
Zelma Adell Patch was born October 18, 1891 in South Dakota, the daughter of Elmer Patch and Anna Harris. She died February 26, 1970 in Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.
They were both buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.

RICEVILLE — Services for James Bernard Hendricks, 83, who died Saturday at a Cresco nursing home, were at 11 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church here; burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Wallace Torney and Mrs. Hal Bodenham of Riceville, Mrs. Hubert Christensen of Des Moines and Mrs. Robert Curky of Washington; one son, James of Yankton, South Dakota; one sister, Mrs. Ludwig Ripley of Alexandria, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Chisholm Funeral Home in charge.

RICEVILLE COUPLE PLANS ANNIVERSARY OBSERVANCE
RICEVILLE, IOWA – Mr. and Mrs. J. B. (Bernard) Hendricks, Riceville, will be honored at an open house in the Parish Hall of Immaculate Conception Church in Riceville from 2 to 5 o’clock Sunday in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. Their children will serve as hosts.
Bernard Hendricks and Zelma Patch were married June 12, 1912, in the Immaculate Conception Church in Riceville.
Mr. Hendricks has lived all his life in the Riceville vicinity. Mrs. Hendricks is from the Dakotas. She was educated at Riceville and taught before her marriage.
They set up housekeeping on the Hendricks Estate at the east edge of Riceville, and lived there for many years.
On December 31, 1936, they moved into Riceville, where Mr. Hendricks served the Co-Op Oil Company as a tank wagon salesman for 20 years.
They are parents of four daughters and one son; Mrs. Hal (Patricia) Bodenham; and Mrs. Wallace (Bernadine) Torney, both of Riceville; Mrs. Hubert (Kathryn) Christensen, Cedar Falls; James, Yankton, S. Dakota; and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Lea) Curley, Washington. They have nine grandchildren.
