HOFFER, OSAGE, ILLNESS VICTIM
WAS DECORATOR AND PAINTER IN TOWN FOR PAST 40 YEARSOsage – William Hoffer died at 5 o’clock Monday morning after an illness of 10 months.
He came to Osage in 1878. He married Elizabeth Behrnes in 1881. She died in 1909. He married Mrs. Louise Johnson in 1912 and had the distinction of celebrating his silver wedding with both wives.
He worked for many years on the old B.C.R.N. Railroad, now the Rock Island.
For the past 40 years he was a painter and decorator in Osage.
He is survived by his widow and three daughters; Mrs. Katherine Dickerson, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Bush Moran, St. Paul; and Emma Hoffer of Washington, D. C.

William Frederick Hoffer was born January 1858 in Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Tressie Hoffer. His first wife was Elizabeth Behrnes and his 2nd wife was Louise (Larsen) Johnson, the widow of Peter Johnson.
