RECKNER, Herman 1892-1961
Funeral services for Herman Henry Ephriam Reckner, 69, of near Riceville, Iowa, were held at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, on Friday, March 3, 1961, with Rev. W. Schroeder officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery, with Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reckner became will on Monday afternoon and was taken to the Memorial Hospital in Osage where he passed away at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 1961, with pneumonia.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reckner, Sr., born at their farm home near Acme, February 7, 1892, one of 11 children.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith of which he has remained a faithful member until his death.
He received his education in a Howard County rural school. His whole life was spent in Howard County, working as a farm laborer. The last 20 years he worked for and made his home with the Elmer Kruger family near Elma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Willie; and two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Minnie) Ring and Mrs. Albert (Marie) Dilly.
He leaves to mourn six brothers, Charles, August and Ben of Charles City; Joe, Frank and Arthur of Riceville; and one sister, Mrs. W. A. (Helena) Ripley of near Cresco, Iowa.
