LONGTIME RESIDENT OF OSAGE, 76 DIES
Osage, Iowa – Mrs. Oline Forslund 76, longtime resident of Osage, died late Friday night at the Wass Nursing Home in Mason City of complications arising from a broken hip and advanced age. She had been a patient thee for the past year.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Osage Lutcheran Church with Rev. T. P. Solem, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
She was born Oline Churness, August 25, 1873, at Ferryville, Wisconsin and was married to John Forslund in 1906.
Following their marriage, the couple moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they lived until 1911, when they moved to Osage.
Survivors include one son, Odell, Forest City, Ia.; one daughter, Mrs. Erling Dahley, Nora Springs, Ia.; six grandchildren; one sister; Mrs. Sig Klemesrud, Osage; and two brothers; Elmer, also of Osage; and John, Mt. Sterling, Wis.
Her husband and an infant daughter preceded her in death.

MASON CITY HOMEFuneral services for Mrs. Oline Forslund, 76, were held Tuesday, October 11, 1949, at the Champion Funeral Home and the Osage Lutheran Church, with Rev. T.P. Solem officiating. Burial was made in the Osage cemetery.
Mrs. Forslund died October 7, 1949, at the Waas Nursing Home in Mason City, where she had made her home the past two years.
Oline Marie Churness was born at Ferryville, Wisconsin, on August 25, 1873, to Ole and Abalona Korstad Churness. She grew to womanhood in Ferryville, attended school there, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
At LaCrosse, Wisconsin, she was united in marriage to Carl Johan Forslund on June 27, 1906. They lived three years in Milwaukee, Wis., then one year at Mt. Sterling, Wis., and in 1910 moved to Osage, Iowa.
In Osage the Forslunds were engaged in the hotel and restaurant business, for many years operating the Travelers' Inn, now the Bloxham Hotel.
Mr. Forslund died in an automobile accident September 20, 1934. After his death, Mrs. Forslund continued to live in Osage until failing health compelled her to give up her home two years ago.
Mrs. Forslund was a devoted member of the Osage Lutheran Church. She was twice president and three times treasurer of the Ladie's Aid.
Surviving are one son, Odell, of Forest City; on edaughter, Mrs. Erling (Janette) Dahley of Nora Springs; six grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Churness of Osage and John of Mt. Sterling, Wis.; and one sister, Mrs. Sig (Louise) Klemesrud of Osage. One daughter died in infancy in Milwaukee.
