JOHNSON, Cora Hannah

Cora Hannah Johnson, 81, former Osage high school principal, died at Mitchell County Memoiral Hospital about 11 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services for her were conducted on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home, by the Rev. H. Doak, Congregational pastor.

Miss Johnson, the second child of John H. and Mary Kinney Johnson, Iowa pioneers, was born in Osage on August 6, 1872. She graduated from the Osage public schools, Cedar Valley seminary and the University of Chicago. She took post graduate work at the University of Minnesota.

Miss Johnson devoted many years of her life to teaching. Much of that time she was principal of Osage High School. After retirement from teaching she served on the board of education to promote the interests of the school and the community.

She gave loving care to her mother in her later years, as she did to her adopted daughters, Mrs. M. T. Van Voorhis, and Mrs. John T. Richey and adopted son, Frank Krapek, all of Osage.

Miss Johnson was a long-time member of the Shakespearean Club and active in the Congregational church for many years.

She is survived by Mrs. M. T. Van Voorhis, Mrs. John T. Richey and Frank Krapek of Osage and by a sister, Mrs. Thomas Hudson of Beach, North Dakota.
