Alton F. Havig 1918-1985

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 18, 1985, at Bonifay, Florida, for Alton F. Havig, 67, who died there on Saturday, November 16, 1985.

Mr. Havig was a lifelong resident of Mason City, Iowa, until retiring and moving to Florida last July. He was a route manager for Marshall Swift Company where he was employed for 38 years.

Area survivors include his two brothers, Melbourne and Everett Havig, both of the Osage area; and five sisters: Grace Havig, Mrs. June Jahnel, Mrs. Dorothy Fleenor, Mrs. Fern Hughes and Mrs. Leona Richardson, all of the Osage area.

Alton Frederick Havig was born August 3, 1918 in Mitchell County Iowa, the son of Frederick and Ida (Hartwig) Havig. He was buried at Bonifay Cemetery, Bonifay, Holmes Co., Florida.

He married Barbara Rutan, the daughter of William B. and Eva (Williams) Rutan on August 24, 1940 at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage, Clear Lake, Iowa (marriage date from a Globe Gazette article).
