Theodore Foxen, 1861-1934

Theodore Foxen, New Haven Man, Passed Away Monday

Theodore Foxen, a long-time resident of New Haven, passed away at his home Monday morning, April 30, 1934, at 2:30. He was taken ill on the evening of April 27. His condition was considered serious from the beginning. Due to complications it was soon evident his illness would not yield to medical skill.

Theodore Foxen was born in Germany February 9, 1861. At the age of 20 he came to this country. He worked as a farm hand in Mitchell County for some years, in those pioneer days when hardships were numerous. In 1889 he purchased eighty of acres in Douglas township, where he was living at the time of his death.

On October 13, 1891 he was united in marriage to Anne Miller. To this union eight children were born: John, Mathew, Elizabeth and William, of New Haven, Mrs. Leo Schmidt, of Kankakee, Ill.; Jacob, Mary and Joseph, who preceded him in death. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. It will be remembered that Mrs. Foxen passed away on May 14, 1933.

Mr. Foxen was a devoted Catholic, kind father and good neighbor, who will be sadly missed in the community.
