Funeral services for Mrs. William (Ruth) Pilgrim, 94, of Osage and formerly of Mason City, were held on Friday, September 13, 1985, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Rev. S. Brightwell officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
She died on Tuesday, September 10, 1985 at an Osage nursing home.
Ruth was born in Osage, Iowa, on March 14, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William (Trowbridge) Bigelow. The family moved to Freeborn county, Minnesota where she attended school. On March 14, 1914 she and William Pilgrim were united in Marriage in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and later that year the couple moved to Osage. The couple moved to Mason City in 1949, and they lived there for 30 years.
She was a member of the Gildner Circle of Mason City Baptist Church. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Osage, the Ever Ready Group of the Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Osage Women's Club. She has been a resident of the While Houose Nursing Home in Osage since 1979.
Her parents, one sister, one brother and one grandson preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, William of Osage; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Wildora) Merrill of Osage; two sons, Earl of Mason City and Maurice of Osage; one sister, Mrs. Olive Hennessey of Osage; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
