HANSON, Harold Raymond 1915-1985
Commital services for Harold R. Hanson, 70, of Osage, Iowa, who died at his home in Osage on Wednesday, March 20, 1985 were held on Friday, March 22, at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Rev. Loyd Johnson officiated at the service with burial in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.
Harold Raymond Hanson was born on January 20, 1915 to Sefred and Cora Sessons Hanson on a farm in Douglas County near Alexandria, Minnesota. He attended school in Douglas and Pope counties and was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Alexandria, Minnesota. He lived with his family in the Glenwood-Alexandria area until 1942 when they moved to Mitchell County, Iowa. He was engaged in farming with his brother, Ted, for many years.
Following this, he worked for the American Crystal Sugar Company in Mason City. In his later years he did many odd jobs in the community. At the time of his death he resided at the Hamlin Garland Apartments in Osage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil and Ted; and one sister, Vera.
He is survived by two brothers, Leo of St. Ansgar and Merrill "Don" of Mason City, and several nieces and nephews.
