Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Morten H. Miller at the First Lutheran church, the Rev. O.A. Langehough officiating. Burial was made in the First Lutheran cemetery.

Morten Halfdan Miller was born in Oslo, Norway, December 4, 1871, the son of Bernt and Caroline Mortenson, who preceded him in death. He passed away at his home in St. Ansgar, March 9 after a lingering illness.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Old Aker Church in Oslo, Norway, and emigrated to America and came to Osage, Iowa, in 1887, and has lived in and around this community since that time. In the year 1895 he was united in marriage with Mary Larson at Osage,Iowa. To this union seven children were born.

He is survived by his wife and five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Mamie Thompson of Big Springs, Texas; Mrs. Francis Ary of Muscatine, Iowa; Mrs. Katie Converson of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Dora Gurko of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Alice McCarty of Wensketer, Indiana; Roy of Austin, Minn.; and Harold at home. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Jacobson and Fannie Mortenson of Osage, Iowa.
