OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral rites will be on Friday at the Osage Lutheran Church, for Mrs. Clara Hartwig, 69, who died on Tuesday at University Hospital in Iowa City. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. She had been in failing health for some time.
Clara was born on June 9, 1885, to Gustav and Elizabeth (Frieholtz) Troge, near Osage. She married Fred Hartwig and lived on a farm near Osage until their estrangement, when she moved to Osage.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harry [Allene] Pierson, Chicago; a son, Vern, in Oregon; one grandchild; two brothers, Charles and Will, both of Floyd; six sisters, Mrs. Emma Roehr, Osage; Mrs. Alfred Adrian, Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. Will Sherlock, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Walter Low and Mrs. Marvin Smalley, both of Osage; and Mrs. Lena Dykeman, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Albert Troge, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cook and Mrs. Vera Birkholz.
