Elvira E. Bruggemann

Funeral Services were held Sunday, February 10, 1985 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Toeterville for Elvira Bruggemann of Toeterville. Rev. Charles Bunk officiated at the service with burial in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. She died on Friday, February 8, 1985, at the Stacyville Nursing Home.

Elvira Bruggemann was born on January 18, 1911 to Fred and Ella Geffert Bruggemann in Toeterville. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville. She attended grade school at Toeterville Union No. 4 and graduated from St. Ansgar High School. She completed training at Gates Business College in Waterloo and shortly after contracted polio. She spent her remaining years in Toeterville.

She was an active member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, a Sunday school teacher, ALCW member and church’s financial secretary. For the past four years she was a resident of the Stacyville Nursing Home.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Marge Bruggemann, her sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Galen Kittleson; seven nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ella; her stepmother, Elsie Geffert Bruggemann and an infant brother.
