Services were held on Monday, August 12, 1985, for Peter Hartogh, 86, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven, with Father J. Gregory officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville, with Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Peter Paul Hartogh was born on July 25, 1899 near New Haven, to John and Susan Hartogh. He attended the rural schools in Douglas Township and was a farmer by occupation.

On July 8, 1935 he was united in marriage to Anna Koenigs in Meyer.

Survivors include his wife, Anna of rural Elma; two sons, John of rural Elma and Joe of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Margaret) Olson of Marion and Mrs. Virgil (Mary) Zeimetz of Rochester, Minnesota; one brother, Mike Hartogh of Elma; three sisters: Mrs. Henry (Barbara) Koenigs of Stacyville, Mrs. George (Helen) Halfman of Stacyville, and Mrs. Tony (Mary) Koenigs of Pontiac, Michigan; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bernard, and three sisters: Mrs. William (Francis) Grube, Mrs. Fred (Agnes) Kramer, and Katherine Hartogh.
