FITZL, Marie

Funeral services for Marie Fitzl, 102, formerly of rural Plymouth and Osage areas, were held on Monday, February 25, 1985, at 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Plymouth, Iowa. She passed away on Thursday, February 21, at the Manly Care Center where she has spent the last eight years.. The Rev. J. King officiated with burial in the Bohemian Cemetery, Plymouth.

Marie Fitzl was born September 1, 1883 in Czechoslovakia. She came to America as a small child and settled in the Plymouth area. She married Frank Fitzl on January 3, 1905 in Plymouth where they farmed. In 1951 Marie moved to Osage following her husband's death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; one son, Julius; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Arnold of Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Herb (Daisy) Johanns of New Haven; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Julius (Mary Ann) Fitzl of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Jeffries of Baltimore, Maryland; one brother, Edward Vikturek of Bridger, Montana.

NOTES:

Marie (Vikturek) Fitzl, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Kimel) Vikturek. Her parents are also buried in the Bohemian Cemetery, Plymouth, Iowa.
