George Truman Brunson -- 1833-1911

George T. Brunson was born January 23, 1833 in Rushford, N. Y. As a young man he came to this state (Iowa) in 1857. He was united in marriage to Clarissa Bowers, who passed out of this life in April 1908.
Soon after his marriage he and his bride moved onto his homestead north of town, (Riceville) where he with his family resided, until he fell asleep on Tuesday evening, November 21, 1911, at eight o’clock at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 28 days.
He is survived by six children; three sons, Fred, Frank and George, all of Riceville; and three daughters; Mrs. Charles Root and Mrs. George Markham of Riceville; and Mrs. Charles Wilkes of Winnebago, Minnesota.
Mr. Bunson was a man of quiet habits, respected by all who knew him. The Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church last Friday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. P. P. Peace. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
