OSAGE WOMEN DIES AFTER BIRTH OF SIXTH CHILD

Osage – A former Osage Woman, Mrs. Oliver Whalen, 32, died Monday at St. Olaf Hospital, Austin, Minnesota following the birth of her sixth child, Pauline Lucille Whalen. Death was attributed to embolism. Funeral rites will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Rose Creek Catholic Church, with burial in the Rose Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, six children; David, 11; Rita, 9; Paula Jean, 7; Douglas, 3; Larry, 13 months; and Pauline Lucille, who was named after her mother.

Others include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lonergan, Osage; a sister; Mrs. Corliss Estergren, Osage; and four brothers; Robert and Dale Lonergan, Balane, Ill.; Roland, Mason City; and Kenneth, Muskeegan, Michigan.

Pauline Lucille Lonergan was born February 10, 1928 in Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Herbert Lonergan and Ruth (Gunsallus) Lonergan. She married Oliver Urban Whalen.
