Funeral services were here Monday for William E. Hickey, 72, who died at his home Friday following an illness of 10 days; had not been well for the last year.

Son of Michael and Margaret Hickey, he was born in DeKalb County, Illinois, on October 28, 1874. He grew to manhood in this community. He married Catherine O'Connell at St. James church at Lee, Illinois in 1900. The couple established their home on a farm in the DeKalb community and in 1914 they moved to a farm near Stacyville, lowa, where they continued to live until 11 years ago, when they retired to Osage.

He leaves wife; four children: Clyde Hickey, Waterloo, Paul Hickey, Dallas, Texas; Glenn, Osage; Mrs. Marie Hofmiester, Madison, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

He was the youngest of four brothers, all of whom preceded him in death within the last year. He also leaves three sisters.
